IMT(Imaging Technology) Technology is a high-tech health services career for students who are interested in providing direct patient care and working as part of a healthcare team. Although no prior experience is necessary to apply for this program, students must demonstrate good communication and interpersonal skills, strong problem-solving skills, honesty, dependability and adaptability.
The IMT program develops competence in the knowledge and skills required for various Imaging Technologies. The integrated curriculum, designed to be completed in 4 years on a full-time basis, includes both didactic and clinical education components.

Why ACMT?
• Great hands-on experience. ACMT has an advantage over other programs in that the college has a state-of-art radiology lab on campus. In this lab, students can practice and perform procedures and then process the images.
• Active student organization.

Career Opportunities

A nationwide shortage of healthcare workers is expected to continue through at least 2010. IMT program graduates can work in rural or urban areas in varied settings, including hospitals, doctors’ offices, and free-standing imaging clinics. Some graduates may choose employment as a contract or travel technologist, and work at various locations throughout the world.
The IMT Program Faculty encourages graduates to practice the concept of life long learning by continuing their education, whether it be in a formal or informal manner. Graduates have opportunities for additional on-the-job training in other modalities such as CT, Ultrasound, and Special Procedures.
