ADMISSION PROCEDURES
1. The prospective student should make an appointment with an Admissions Representative of the school.
2. The prospective student should be prepared to
a. Submit a High School Diploma, or its equivalent, as specified in the Admissions Requirements
b. Complete an enrollment application
c. Complete an admissions form
3. An appointment to sit for the Scholastic Level Examination and the Basic Aptitude Test will be made at this time. To be considered for enrollment, each student must demonstrate a passing score on both examinations.
4. Students who wish to apply for credit for previous education, training, or work experience, must submit a Credit for Previous Education, Training, or Work Experience form (CPETWE) and provide official tran- scripts for educational training, or documentation of the work experi- ence. A placement examination may be given to determine the best level for the student in a program. Training received at foreign educa- tional institutions may need to be evaluated for U.S. equivalency by an approved evaluating agency. There will be no charge for these evaluations except for those charges required by outside agencies.
5. The Admissions Representative will assess the prospective student's
qualifications and abilities for the program in which the student is interested.
Alternative program opportunities can also be discussed at this time.
A physical tour of the facilities of the campus, including the lecture rooms,
laboratories, computer lab, library and other campus facilities can also be
conducted.
6. The student will receive a Letter of Acceptance/Rejection within one week of completion of Admission forms and documents. Students must contact the college to verify acceptance within one week of receipt of the Acceptance Letter.
7. Letter of Acceptance will indicate the date of the appropriate
orientation session.
8. For Federal Financial Aid eligibility, students are referred to the Financial Aid Office.
ADMISSION REQUIREMENT
1. Applicants must either:
a. Have a high school diploma, or
b. Have a General Education Diploma(GED) certificate, or
2. Applicants must be able to communicate effectively in the English
language. As all courses at the College are taught in English, the students must be able to speak, read, and write in English fluently. English abilities will be determined through the College's admissions tests, interview, and completion of the application.
3. Applicants for the Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technology Program (MRI) or Ultrasound Technician Program (UT) must present evidence of a high school diploma or GED certificate, and must have completed one (1) of the following categories:
Categories:
1. Associate Degree in an Allied Health Field (e.g. Radiological
Technologist, Respiratory Therapist, Physical Therapy Assistant, R.N.)
2. One year (30 semester units) of college including Natural Sciences and college level English. Classes in Natural Science include: Anatomy, Anthropology, Astronomy, Biology, Chemistry, Geography, Microbiology, Oceanography, Physics, Physiology, and Zoology.
and
One year of full-time (or equivalent) direct patient care or clinical work
experience in a hospital, medical office, or allied healthcare setting (e.g.
Hemodialysis Technician, Respiratory Therapist, Phlebotomist, L.V.N.,
Medical Assistant, Surgical Assistant).
3. Two (2) years of full-time direct patient care or clinical work experience in a hospital, medical office, or allied healthcare setting (e.g. Hemodialysis Technician, L.V.N., Medical Assistant, Surgical Assistant).
4. Limited X-Ray Technician with one (1) year of full-time experience as an
X-Ray Technician. The year of full-time experience may be concurrent
with enrollment in the MRI Program.
4. Applicants must complete an application for admission.
5. Applicants must complete an oral evaluation with the Admissions Department, Parents or spouses are encouraged to be present.
6. The Bureau for Private Postsecondary and Vocational Education, Department of Education, Department of Health Services and Accrediting Organizations require that all prospective students take and pass an entrance test(s) prior to admission and enrollment into allied health programs. ACMT administers the following exams as
prerequisites for admission to the college:
(1) Basic Aptitude Test: A student must score 70% or higher to be considered for admission to ACMT.
(2) The Wonderlic Scholastic Level Exam: The student must score the minimum of 15 points to be considered for admission to ACMT. Applicants failing to achieve the required scores may submit an application to be re-tested. There must be at least a
one-week period between the administration of the first test and the administration of the second test.
7. Applicants must complete all financial arrangements prior to admis- sion. If applicable, financial aid applications must be completed.
8. Applicants must complete an Enrollment Agreement (which must be signed by a parent or guardian if the applicant is under 18 years of age).
9. Applicants who are accepted for admission must attend an Orientation Session to complete the admissions process.
