The five Intensive English Programs are six weeks long with 25 hours of instruction per week. There are usually three levels: low intermediate, high intermediate, and advanced. Courses are grammar, integrated skills, and oral communication skills. Other courses such as TOEFL preparation and business English may be offered if there is sufficient student interest. U.S. cultural themes and topics are an integral part of the program. Lessons are designed to familiarize students with U.S. lifestyles, art and music, values and standards. Educational field trips are included as part of the courses and offer students opportunities to visit local sites such as museums and neighborhoods.
